What size of teams are needed to work in Jamaica?

Groups of 8-10 are recommended but with special arrangements, smaller and larger groups might be possible.

How long have the Pratt's been serving in Jamaica?

Pastors Merlin and Kay have been serving in Jamaica beginning in 2006. They even spent many years living and serving full-time in Jamaica.

Is the money I send tax deductible?

Yes! We have worked hard to get all the necessary documentation. We are a 501c3, Not for Profit, Tax Exempt entity. All gifts are tax deducti

What kind of work will we do?

This depends on your gifts and what the current needs of the Jamaican Churchor other locations. Some of the biggest needs of the Church are types of leadership development, such as pastoral training, worship structure, worship music development, and Evangilism training. We also need teams to help lead Vacation Bible School, puppet ministries, construction projects, and church maintenance.

I don't get around as well as I once did. Can I still help?

We have many needs, even on trips with specific projects. You can read and help children with crafts at VBS. We partner with a "Basic School" that needs people to read to children and help with basic skills. One construction projects, there is a need for helping with drinks or taking measurements.

What can we do here to help support the Church in Jamaica? Pray

Our greatest need and resource is prayer. Please pray for support of the long-term missionaries, safe travels for all involved, volunteers to return to Jamaica or other locations, and donations to provide for the many physical needs. Most importantly, please pray for those we are helping to experience the love of Christ through us and to be able to then serve others.

What can we do here to help support the Church in Jamaica? Supplies

There are many physical needs that might need to be met at different times. You could collect and donate these items to send with teams. In Jamaica, the children need black shoes for school. Bibles, Christian CDs and DVDs, and Christian study materials are always useful. Medical supplies needed include children's medicines, antibiotic ointment, bandaids, and eye glasses. School supplies such as books, paper tablets, pens, and pencils are needed.

What can we do here to support the Church in Jamaica? Donations

Do to the high cost of shipping supplies from the US to Jamaica, it is often necessary to purchase them locally when down there. In addition, to help support the local communities as gaincommunity support of projects, there are times it is necessary to hire local Jamaicans to work with or instead of mission groups.
